Everything I learned from this module was new to me, and it has now encouraged me to be more aware of knowledge of the significance and importance of the specific theoretical approaches, issues and objects of named fields of culture, media and communication analysis within the Media. This module was the most intensive module i have done this year, this was because my group was of a small number and because the formation of the group was delayed we were behind a lot of tasks and had missed a few deadlines. This module has helped me understand the importance of group work and how much group work can help. Not only did we cover different types of advertising, semiotic approaches and reviewed and critically analyzed US Tv shows and magazines we also got the chance to produce a tv show and magazines from scratch
The zine and magazine we had to create gave me the chance to express how I felt about fashion in so many waysI throughly enjoyed the module and the task we had to complete but at times it became frustrating because I felt Oin, Bailey an I were the only group member who turned up and contributed towards everything and our other group member showed no interest. For tasks like this it would have been fairer if we have had been given the chance to change the group member or remove the group member who showed no interest from our group to help the productivity of the group and to be on track with all assignments given. This module has helped me grow in maturity and helped me in being able to contribute to group work and bring ideas to the table i have now become confident in working amount people i don’t know and looking back from first semester i can see a big difference from being the shy one in the group to being a group leader and making sure tasks are done.
